Pistol Fundamentals - Sept 27, 2026
Build the essential skills needed to handle and shoot a handgun safely, confidently, and accurately. This five-hour, one-day range course is designed for all experience levels, from first-time shooters to experienced handgun owners who want to strengthen their fundamentals.
Class size is limited so each participant receives individual attention, coaching, and time to develop their skills.
Skills Covered
Training includes:
Firearm safety and range procedures
Safe loading and unloading
Proper grip and stance
Sight alignment and sight picture
Trigger control
Recoil management
Accuracy and shot placement
Follow-up shots
Malfunction identification and clearing
Safe, confident handgun handling
Course Format
This course takes place entirely on the range and includes a lunch break with an informal question-and-answer session with the instructor.
By the end of the course, students should have a solid foundation they can continue building upon and greater confidence handling and operating their firearm safely.

Firearm and Ammunition Requirements
Firearm rentals are not available for this course. Each student must bring a safe, functional handgun.
A 9mm semiautomatic pistol is recommended, but students may bring the handgun they intend to carry for personal protection or use for home defense.
Bring:
300–400 rounds of ammunition compatible with your firearm
A minimum of two magazines for semiautomatic handguns
Eye and ear protection
Closed-toe shoes
Lunch
Plenty of water
Optional Equipment
Holster and magazine carrier
Speed loader
Rain gear
Chair
